Andrew Newland

Andrew Newland
Chairman

Andrew Newland is a specialist healthcare expert, leader of medtech and biopharma companies and experienced long term PLC Chief Executive.

Andrew founded and built ANGLE plc, a specialist cancer liquid biopsy company developing the breakthrough Parsortix system to recover cancer cells from patient blood for subsequent analysis to guide personalised cancer care, from start-up through to London IPO. He subsequently led the business for 20 years as UK plc Chief Executive securing the first ever US FDA product clearance for a medical device in its area.

Andrew has built and operated regulated businesses across the UK, United States and Canada, personally led product development, analytical and clinical studies, and US FDA clearance, achieved adoption by over 40 leading cancer research centres worldwide and enabled over 100 peer-reviewed publications into cancer metastasis. The Parsortix system is now underpinning the new development of entirely new classes of cancer drugs.

He has an MA in Engineering Science from the University of Cambridge and is a qualified Charted Accountant.

Over 15 years’ experience in polymer technology transfer. Strong track record of taking new technologies from spin-out to market, developing quality management systems and securing substantial grant funding from UK and international sources.

With over 20 years’ experience in the medical device sector, Sophie has worked across clinical practice and product innovation, helping surgeons adopt technologies that improve patient outcomes. Her expertise spans orthopaedic trauma, craniomaxillofacial surgery and peripheral nerve repair.

Nick Jenkinson
Financial/Commercial Analyst

Nick is a Chartered Accountant with ten years experience in roles advising clients across a range of industries including financial services, retail, construction, manufacturing and public sector. Nick has been invited in the successful turnaround and restructuring of multiple UK high street brands and more recently helped accelerate the growth of several startups and UK SMEs. Nick is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and also holds the Certificate in Insolvency
